Toenail Surgery

Nail surgery is the partial or complete removal of a toenail whilst under local anaesthetic. This is appropriate  when a patient presents with a problematic ingrown toenail that is causing  a lot of discomfort. If the nail cannot be managed conservatively through regular podiatry visits, nail surgery is considered. Nail surgery may sometimes be offered if the nail is damaged due to a fungal infection.

Our Podiatrists are equipped and qualified to remove problem ingrowing toenails under local anaesthetic. A complete, sterile procedure at your convenience.

Verruca Treatment

Verruca’s can be treated in a variety of ways, This will be discussed at your initial appointment.

ACID:

This is a topical treatment that is applied after debridement of the verruca area and may need to be done on a weekly basis.  This treatment may have to be done over many months, but it is relatively painless and ideal for children.

DRY NEEDLING:

Needling is performed under local anaesthetic, so the area is completely numb. A hypodermic needle is then used to repeatedly puncture the verruca, this triggers an immune response, the appropriate antibodies are produced and over the subsequent weeks the verruca undergoes a natural deterioration before ultimately disappearing. The area is dressed afterwards, and should be kept dry for 24 hours, after a couple of hours with your foot up at home  you are able to get back to normal activities. Needling is usually a one-off treatment.
